Introduction

G-FEHD is launching a project to empower local communities in Cameroon through plantain production, processing, and economic development.

Objectives

- Enhance food security and income generation for local communities

- Promote sustainable plantain production and processing practices

- Support community-led initiatives and entrepreneurship

Components

- Community Engagement: Training and capacity building for local farmers and community members

- Plantain Production: Support for sustainable plantain production practices and access to improved planting materials

- Processing and Value Addition: Training and support for plantain processing and value addition initiatives

- Market Access: Facilitating market access for local plantain products

Implementation Strategy

1. Community Needs Assessment: Conduct assessments to identify community needs and priorities

2. Training and Capacity Building: Provide comprehensive training for local farmers and community members

3. Support for Plantain Production: Provide access to improved planting materials and sustainable production practices

4. Processing and Value Addition: Support community-led processing and value addition initiatives
